The short answer: Because language skills and early reading and writing abilities are a requirement for any further education of children.
Do you associate the parent-child course with academic high performance and pressure?
Don’t worry. This isn’t about pushing children ages 1,5 to 5 years into an academic acceleration.
My educational approach is designed to encourage the child’s curiosity and innate joy of learning and to strengthen their early childhood language, writing and reading skills.
„Play with me the ABC“ is a learning journey that opens a gateway to the wonderful world of letters for 1,5 to 5-year-old children through play, movement and music. From letter and sound recognition to strengthening fine motor skills and the first age-appropriate reading and writing attempts. Each child is valued and supported at their own pace.
From grasping to understanding. Child-friendly play materials awaken curiosity, promote attention, stimulate children’s creativity and sensory perception, and encourage children to express themselves verbally or through facial expressions and gestures. Tactile, visual, auditory and movement materials promote the child’s phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, and sound recognition.
By exploring or creating pictures, letters, syllables, and words, we enable playful practising of early reading and writing skills. Before we begin with formal writing, we promote fine motor skills and the development of cognitive abilities by making lines and shapes tangible through musical-rhythmic or creative activities. The developmental process is more important in preschool age than correctness and ‘perfection’.
The parent-child course „Play with me the ABC“ can be booked monthly; it is deliberately designed as individual lessons or for small groups of children of the same age. I want to avoid under- or over-challenging the children and to make sure their age-related needs and their age-specific learning interests can be appreciated and honoured.
And just as the child’s personality, nature, natural abilities and interests are unique, so too will each of their learning experiences with my program be unique and individual.
However different our paths in life and learning may be, my goal in all these early learning adventures remains the same: to delight children’s hearts, to awaken the curiosity of toddlers and preschoolers, to stimulate their creative energy, to make their thinking mind shine and to bring a smile to their face.
And, yes – I am filled with wonder at the abilities of young children and the magical process of their development. I am deeply moved and it is a thrill of happiness for me when parents are present, their children smile, laugh, laugh loudly, cheer, ‘romp’ and share and demonstrate their creative ideas and skills in an age-appropriate manner during each individual play and learning session.
Every child matters. Every child is precious.
Every child is a born genius. Encourage them. Let them unleash their creative potential.
